Senso-ji Temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. It is a Buddhist temple founded in 628 AD in Asakusa after two fishermen fishing in Sumida River found a statue of Boddhisatva Kannon. The village headman then remade his home into a temple which was also rebuilt after destruction by the Second World War.
